How to use

After your shower, use clean, dry fingers to take a small amount. Massage into slightly damp neck, wrists, chest or arms, then let it absorb before getting dressed. Use on intact body skin and stop if irritation occurs.

Key benefits
  • Your fragrance and your moisturiser in the same application.
  • A warm, woody oud accord, blended into a rich cream.
  • Shea butter and coconut oil to help skin feel soft.
  • Sodium hyaluronate to bind moisture in the outer layer of skin.
Why a body butter?

We wanted fewer steps between the shower and getting dressed. A body butter lets us put our fragrance into a moisturising base. You massage it into skin, let it absorb, and get on with your day.

Fragrance first.
Skin care included.

We start with the scent: a warm, woody oud accord. Then we put it in a rich body butter, with shea butter and coconut oil to help skin feel soft.

It fits where your moisturiser already belongs. After the shower, before you get dressed.

An oud accord, explained.

An accord is a blend of fragrance materials that creates a particular scent. Ours gives the butter its woody character. We call it an oud accord so you know what you are wearing.

Why put fragrance in a butter?

We wanted fragrance to fit into the skin care we already needed. A body butter lets us bring the scent and the moisturising ingredients together, so you apply both at once.

What the moisturising base does

Shea butter and coconut oil are emollients: they help soften and smooth the skin’s surface. Sodium hyaluronate is a humectant: it binds water in the outer layer of skin.

Different ingredients, different jobs. Together, they make up the moisturising part of our body butter.

The ingredients.

The scent is only part of it. We chose ingredients with specific jobs, from softening the surface to helping skin hold moisture.

How hydration works

Your outer layer of skin needs both water and lipids, or fats. Humectants such as sodium hyaluronate bind water. Emollients such as shea butter and coconut oil help smooth and soften the surface.

That is why we use both in our moisturising base. Massage it into slightly damp skin after your shower, then let it absorb before dressing.

Shea butterSoftens the skin’s surface

Shea butter supplies emollient lipids. These help smooth the spaces between cells on the surface of your skin, so it feels softer. It is part of the rich, moisturising base that carries our fragrance.

Coconut oilConditions and softens

Coconut oil is an emollient. Its lipids spread over the skin’s surface and help soften dry-feeling areas. It complements the water-binding ingredients in the cream.

Sodium hyaluronateHelps skin hold moisture

This is the salt form of hyaluronic acid. It is a humectant, which means it binds water in the outer layer of skin. Where the oils soften the surface, this ingredient helps with moisture retention.

Vitamin EAntioxidant ingredient

Vitamin E is an antioxidant used in the formula. Antioxidants help limit oxidation, including in oils. This is a different job from moisturising or adding fragrance.

Oud accordThe fragrance

Our blend of fragrance materials gives the butter its warm, woody scent. We call it an oud accord to describe that character. It is the fragrance part of the formula, alongside the moisturising base.

We just wanted
to know.

Do we still smell good? We were tired of asking ourselves, and reaching for the bottle again. More sprays meant getting through it faster.

We wanted a simpler routine that took care of our skin, too. So we put our fragrance in a body butter. That is where AM/PM began.

Why we made AM/PM

A few good questions.

Something else? Ask us.
Is it fragrance or moisturiser?

Both. We blend a woody oud accord into a rich body butter. Shea butter and coconut oil help soften skin, while sodium hyaluronate binds moisture. You apply your scent and your moisturiser together.

What does it smell like?

Warm and woody, built around an oud accord. An accord is a blend of fragrance materials that creates a scent character. It describes the fragrance in our butter, rather than a claim that it contains natural agarwood oil.

How long does the scent last?

Long wear is the goal behind AM/PM. We have not published a product wear test yet, so we are not putting a number of hours on it. We will share measured results when we have them. Skin, the amount you apply and the day you have all affect wear.

Why do I stop noticing my own fragrance?

Your nose can become less sensitive to a familiar scent. That is called olfactory adaptation, and it does not necessarily mean the fragrance has gone. Before reaching for more, ask someone close whether they can still smell it.

Read the research on smell adaptation

How do I apply it?

After your shower, use clean, dry fingers to take a small amount. Massage into slightly damp neck, wrists, chest or arms, then let it absorb before getting dressed. Use on intact body skin and stop if irritation occurs.

Can I wear it with my usual perfume?

Wear it as your fragrance, or try it under a spray you enjoy with woody scents. Start with a small amount and see how the two smell together on your skin.

How long will one jar last?

Each jar contains 140 g. How long it lasts depends on how much you use and where you apply it. We are not setting a daily dose or a fixed number of days per jar before home-use testing.

What if the scent isn’t for me?

Let us know within 30 days of delivery. Return your original jar with at least 75% of the body butter remaining for a refund of the product price. Empty or mostly used jars do not qualify. Read the return conditions. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

What do ISO 22716 and GMP refer to?

Our manufacturer lists ISO 22716 and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) as production standards. They concern how cosmetics are manufactured. They are not tests of how long our scent lasts or proof of a measured skin benefit.

Can I order it now?

We are preparing our first release. Join the launch list and we will email you the link when it is ready to order. Joining is free and does not reserve a jar or place an order.
